But if you want to do it so that it works on clothes as well, you can get a fabric medium and add it to the paint, that stops it from cracking. The only thing is that it needs to be ironed to be sealed which is why it won't work on shoes.
Though I have heard of people painting with acrylic onto clothes without the medium, but I can't second that because I haven't tried myself.

Do you think that method would work on other surfaces?
Like... canvas bags and backpacks and all that?
I don't think it'd work for clothes though... ^^ ;;;
